Hero of Ysos

Long ago, our world was covered in darkness and monsters ruled The Nine Realms.

It was then, the goddess Ysos, drove them away with the darkness through her divine light and brought life to the world!

Then, Halsis was jealous of the world Ysos had made, and attacked her out of rage. 

The world shook from the fury of their battle, yet Ysos was able to defeat Halsis at last, trapping his soul deep with the heart of the frozen tundras to the north. 

Though victorious, Ysos was dying, and gave what remained of her power to shape us from the firmament. 

Lastly, she gave a small piece of her immortal soul to the first princess of Caelumn, called Ysos’ Heart, and is signified by the birthmark shared by every princess since. 

Thus, we call our world Ysos, in her honor. 

And have guarded her heart, and the princess without fail, ever since.

But now…

Princess Shalyn… 

Our princess of Caelumn, has been captured by the evil sorcerer Ardus Kane. 

Ardus threatens to claim the power of Ysos’ Heart and revive Halsis!

He is holding her in his fortress of Icehelm, preparing to sacrifice her once he has collected the all nine Divine Artifacts. 

He has Icehelm’s… He needs the other eight.

If he succeeds, our world will be forever cloaked in shadow and the darkness of Halsis’ evil.

The duty now falls to you, Hero of Ysos, to find the eight Divine Artifacts, defeat Ardus Kane, and save the Princess!

The fate of Caelumn… The fate of Ysos… Depends on you!

Hero of Ysos is a solo, journaling and storytelling role playing game set in the kingdom of Caelumn in a time of turmoil. You, a chosen hero by the goddess Ysos, must rise up to defeat the wicked sorcerer Ardus Kane by collecting eight ancient artifacts before he can. The catch, is that each artifact is guarded deep within an ever changing underground dungeon, by nightmarish creature known as a Horror. To complete your quest, you'll need to travel the lands of Caelumn, train and learn new skills, spells, and upgrade your weapons and armor. Finally, delve into each of the dungeons and slay the Horror within and claim it's artifact. 

You develop the story of the world as you play through the use of random tables and journaling the events of the game as they happen. As events take place, you'll decide who and where they are happening. Why they are happening, and what will happen if you fail. 

Multiplayer and Co-op play are written into the rules at the back of the book, as well as rules for generating and playing your own custom campaigns and continuing the game after you have defeated Ardus Kane.
